Anton Trieb
Anton Trieb was born in Bavaria in 1883 and his family emigrated to Switzerland in 1896. In 1904 he started an apprenticeship as a graphics illustrator at Orell Füssli and kept working for the company afterwards. In 1916 he opened his own studio in Wallisellen near Zurich and from then on worked successfully as a watercolour painter, illustrator and graphic designer. Many of his works reflect his love of nature; for example, he illustrated a three-volume encyclopedia on animals of the world. Anton Trieb died in Wallisellen in 1954.
